Lewy, Israel

(1841-1917)
   German rabbi and scholar. He was born in Inowroclaw, Poland. He became a lecturer in Talmud at the Hochschule fur die Wissenschaft des Judentum in Berlin, then in 1883 took up an appointment at the Breslau Rabbinical Seminary. He published studies of Talmudic literature.
